On day 3 we were leaving for a couple days at Disney World. I was informed that that was going to be it for a few days.

When I left for work I found this in my car!

A quote from the New York Times:

"People have a very weird perception of large numbers. If you have 2,000 cases of flu in a country of 300 million, most people think they’re going to be one of the 2,000, not one of the 299,998,000."

Later this week is my birthday. My 40th birthday. I came home to quite a surprise. My wife and kids are treating me to "40 days of 40!"

So, for Day 1 there were balloons and a banner on the wall over the kitchen table. Oh... and cheesecake!

This could get interesting.

God takes good care of me. His tender mercies touch me day to day. Today I was very aware of this care during Sacrament meeting.

I've been struggling this week. I came to church this morning not with reluctance, but not with any real anticipation either.

I'm just astounded! I guess it's time to plan a trip to SeaWorld!

Last year the company I work for held a weight loss challenge.  There was a lot of participation and it was generally a good thing for all involved.  This year they have decided to make it a "Wellness Program" with a point system.  People are issued pedometers and get points for how many steps they take as well as monthly challenges.  So far I have been less than impressed with the challenges.
