On day 11 I was presented with a handmade card/booklet that my wife and youngest daughter put together. Also in the envelope was a photo of my daughter that I could put in my cube at work. It was all very cute.

We went to see Star Trek. It was great!

On day 9 I got a present for myself. Fedex showed up with my new Dell netbook. I got a Vostro a90n with 1GB RAM and a 16GB SSD. It runs Ubuntu Netbook Remix (I installed the new 9.04 version). (If the preceding two sentences sounded like jibberish, don't worry. It's a tiny notebook computer that runs Linux and starts up really fast). It was a great deal when I bought it and I'm really enjoying it.

On day 8 my wife and youngest daughter showed up shortly after lunch with a balloon attached to a pizza box. Inside the box was a pizza sized cookie with cream cheese icing and fresh fruit slices arranged on top.
